Fashion Week Prep

post Image

The countdown is on! There’s nothing quite like Fashion Week and it starts in just 7 days.  It’s “show time” for everyone – designers, bloggers, buyers and press.  Packing for any trip is difficult, but packing for Fashion Week is an art. Despite the ultra-cool, “I always look like this” vibe, it’s crystal clear everyone puts time and thought (and cash) into their look for the week. Making sure you have the balance between trendy, in-season and classic is key. However, venturing too far to either extreme is never the look to have.

This is what is in my suitcase so far…

Fur Trim Coat- This is the perfect coat to take you into the new Spring season. With the large fur collar and the relaxed feel.

Long Skirt- The length of this dress is a perfect balance that will take you from day to night. I love pairing it with a boot.

Cigarette pant – This is a great new shape and length. It’s a clean look that easily takes you from tent to tent. Two brands that I will have with me are Elizabeth and James and Tibi.

Easy Crew Sweater – These sweaters are to be paired with any bottom, especially my new cigarette pants that are already packed. Theory and Halston Heritage do this right, with classic cuts and luxurious fabrics.

Beautiful Blouse – This is a great way to introduce some new color, just in time to celebrate the new season! For me, it’s all about Theory’s Brundia Blouse. This color makes a beautiful statement.

Nail ColorYSL’s Bronze Pyrite is a fresh color, but still neutral and sophisticated.

iPhone Case – Literally your most important accessory – don’t forget to update it this season! Packing in perfectly with the rest of my outfits, this Leather Wrap case from Apple is what I will be using this season.

Boots- It’s still cold and wet, but the rag and bone Kinsey boot in waxed suede or black will give nod to spring.

Color Block Bag – A great way to add this important trend into your wardrobe.  I am debating between the Jason Wu Daphne or the Reed Krakoff to add a fun splash of color in early February.

Pumps – The perfect pair for cigarette pants or a dress- so simple and elegant. The Jimmy Choo Abel in suede or black patent is the one to have in your suitcase.

In summary, the key is to have lots of great pieces to mix together and a few statement jewelry items to complete your look.  Having everything you need in your suitcase is important for any trip- but for fashion week it is imperative.
